SO, IT'S ALL OVER!!!

What a fantastic week of singing, friendship, education and competition! With 70 choirs involved from 13 nationalities across the world, it has truly been an amazing Festival in which choirs sang in 50 events at 40 locations across Cornwall. Many new friendships were forged and new possiblities were opened up for both personal and choir exchanges.

For the first time, youth choirs came together for fun and exciting activities, workshops, master classes and competition as well as singing in schools with local youngsters and a superbly supported Gala Concert in the Hall for Cornwall. Ten choirs took part and all say they had a wonderful time. All from outside Cornwall want to come back in 2017!

In total, twenty two choirs competed in three categories for cash prizes and trophies. Click on Competition Results above for full information.

Several of the concerts were recorded by Chorum Records from whom CDs of the events can be ordered.

A decision on the next (2017) Festival has yet to be taken. However, provisional dates for it are 26th April - 1st May 2017. Once the Festival Board has finalised arrangements, registration will be open to choirs from across the world to come and experience this amazing choral festival.

Epsom Male Voice Choir premièred "Crossing the Bar" in the opening International Gala Concert in Truro Cathedral. Written by its Director, Ian Assersohn, the piece won the 2014 Festival Composers' Competition. Warwickshire County Male Voices also premièred Alan Bullard's "Health and Safety", the 2015 Festival Commission.
